On Sept. 2 morning a single 181 mln yuan buy order drove an Inner Mongolia machinery maker to the daily limit and locked the price, its second straight limit-up. Great Wall Military Industry also locked its daily limit while Beifang Changlong, Tianqin Equipment, Jianshe Industrial and Guoke Military rallied sharply; all are in the ground armaments sector. Analysts say military trade was an important incremental area during the 15th Five-Year Plan but the military-trade supply chain underperformed in 1H and the market remains cautious on order fulfillment. With ongoing validation of Chinese equipment combat capability, the approaching Zhuhai Airshow and further disclosure of foreign orders, the sector may regain investor attention.
