Qinzhou Maritime Safety Administration, via the China Maritime Safety Administration website, issued a navigation warning: parts of the Beibu Gulf will conduct live‑fire exercises and are closed to navigation on Sept 2 from 11:00 to 17:00 and Sept 3 from 12:00 to 16:00; entry prohibited.

Sept 2 — The PLA Southern Theater Command deployed naval and air units to conduct combat-readiness patrols in the territorial waters and airspace around China’s Huangyan Island. China asserts Huangyan Island as its inherent territory. Since August the theater has stepped up continuous sea and air patrols and surveillance around the island, strengthening control of the area and responding to incursions and provocations.
