A Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao yacht event was held on Dong'ao Island in Zhuhai
with 16 yachts and over 180 owners and industry representatives from Hong Kong
and Macao participating, signalling early uptake. The yacht free-travel policy,
implemented in June 2026, allows Hong Kong and Macao yachts to sail and
undertake leisure activities freely across nine mainland Greater Bay Area
cities. The policy is driving tourism and marine-economic activity in Guangzhou,
Shenzhen and Zhuhai, accelerating construction of a 1-hour maritime living
circle and promoting higher-quality marine cultural tourism in the Greater Bay
Area.
