UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham pledged his government will ensure fiscal stability but refused to rule out further borrowing, saying his administration will adhere to fiscal rules. Burnham blamed elevated gilt yields and rising government financing costs on the previous Conservative government, saying market turmoil reflected risk exposures they left and that debt-to-GDP rose during their tenure.
