The composite PMI was 52.0, close to its long-run average of 52.3, indicating the euro zone private sector is expanding at a steady but not strong pace. Respondents reported broadly based, still-robust demand. S&P Global Market Intelligence senior chief economist Joe Hayes said the data point to solid Q3 growth, with industrial momentum strengthening and services recovering from the initial energy-price spike after the Middle East war.
