CATL chairman Zeng Yiqun said in a video address to the 2026 World Power Battery
Conference that domestic NEV sales exceeded 7.4 mln in 1H and automakers
launched more than 600 new models—about three per day. He said OEMs are
competing on speed, specifications and price and development cycles are
shortening. He warned power batteries require very high precision and have very
low tolerance, so small defects are amplified at mass-production scale; every
process and parameter must be tightly controlled from the design stage and
quality issues handled with zero tolerance.
