Al Jazeera reports the internationally recognized Yemeni government says heavy fighting is underway on the al-Kadaha front in al-Ma’afer district southwest of Taiz. The Aden-based government accuses Houthi forces of attempting a blockade and of obstructing Yemen’s oil exports; the Houthis accuse the Saudi-led coalition-backed government of the same. Conflict has escalated across Yemen over the past weeks; the government says it has carried out hundreds of military operations and that almost all previously frozen front lines have seen renewed clashes and drone strikes.
