Japan Prime Minister Takaichi said Finance Minister Katayama has presented Ministry of Finance budget guidelines that adopt an unprecedentedly bold and flexible approach to deploy decisive, growth-supporting measures aimed at stimulating private investment, boosting supply capacity and revenue. The MoF will allow proposals even if they exceed current budget caps, provided each request passes rigorous cost‑effectiveness review and is judged to materially contribute to growth or to spur private investment; not all requests will be approved. The government intends to compile a budget under a "responsible active fiscal policy" that both strengthens the economy and preserves fiscal sustainability.
