China Development Bank (CDB) on Sept. 3 bookbuilt and issued 50 billion yuan of 3-year green financial bonds via the China Foreign Exchange Trade System issuance platform at Shanghai Clearing House, priced at 1.27%. CDB said this was its first use of online bookbuilding for green bonds and that the method improved issuance efficiency and transparency. Proceeds will fund G1‑rated projects under the Green Finance Support Project Catalogue (2025 edition), including green infrastructure upgrades, energy efficiency and carbon‑reduction industries, green energy transition, and ecological protection and restoration. CDB described the deal as a trial to refine bond pricing, narrow primary‑secondary spreads and expand market‑based green low‑carbon financing.
