Iranian media reported a tanker near Kharg Island was struck by a missile; no casualties reported. Earlier Fars News said explosions were heard near Kharg Island but no smoke or flames were seen in the Persian Gulf and the cause is unclear. Kharg Island handles roughly 90% of Iran’s crude exports.

Financial Times says ANTHROPIC is finalizing MORGAN STANLEY and Goldman Sachs for key roles in its IPO, with filings possibly as soon as next week. MORGAN STANLEY is leading as left lead underwriter and strategic IPO adviser; Goldman Sachs is expected to act as stabilization agent. JP Morgan, CITIGROUP and BARCLAYS are also likely to participate. ANTHROPIC aims to list in New York in late September or early October; the deal will test investor demand for fast-growing AI companies.
