Korea Customs Service said on Saturday year-to-date South Korean exports reached
$709.4 bln, exceeding last year’s full-year record of $709.3 bln as a global
surge in demand for AI chips lifted shipments. Customs said South Korea, Asia’s
fourth-largest economy, is on track for $1 tln in annual exports, which would
make it the fourth country after the US, China and Germany to hit that
milestone. August exports rose 69% YoY, marking the 15th consecutive month of
growth.
