Sept. 5 — Russia's defence ministry said its forces struck a dry-cargo freighter at the port of Chernomorsk in Odesa region carrying Western-supplied military-technical materiel to Ukrainian armed forces. It also said strikes hit a Boryspil facility in Kyiv region that produces ammunition and explosives for Ukraine's security forces.

Fujian provincial flood-control headquarters said rainfall has weakened. At 05:00, Typhoon Krovanh was about 240 km NNW of Naha in the Ryukyu Islands, with near-center maximum winds of force 9, moving south at 15–20 km/h; it is expected to graze fishing grounds off Fujian today with little change in intensity. At 09:00 on Sept. 5 the provincial command terminated the flood emergency response and maintained a level-4 typhoon emergency response.
