The committee of external lawyers identified 844 related violations; about 95% involved unauthorised changes to manufacturing processes, product designs or materials without customer consent. Other breaches included fabricated or altered test data and shipping nonconforming products as compliant. The probe followed a falsification scandal first exposed in May.

Al Jazeera reported the U.S. ambassador to Ankara said U.S. Treasury sanctions on a Turkish financial institution are not aimed at Turkey or its banking system, and that the measure should be seen over time as evidence of a strong U.S.-Turkey partnership rather than a source of bilateral tension.
