Hebei’s first EU Next Generation (NG) certification has been awarded to the
Shenze Economic Development Zone. The certification is intended to help mitigate
trade barriers from the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM); qualifying
market entities in the zone can now align with EU rules such as the Radio
Equipment Directive (RED) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
(CSRD), boosting firms’ international competitiveness and facilitating
integration into global green, low‑carbon supply chains.
