Li Meng, former vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said at
a Xiamen tech and securities conference on Sept. 6 that China’s future
industries will concentrate in six areas. Artificial intelligence, green
low‑carbon development and health and wellness will be the primary directions
guiding economic and social development, while high‑end manufacturing, computing
and connectivity and security development will provide the supporting
infrastructure. He said major scenarios for deep integration of technological
and industrial innovation will emerge across these six fields.
