On Sept. 6, Iran’s armed forces chief of staff said Iran will not surrender to the US and that US pressure via soft‑power, cognitive and economic warfare cannot force Tehran to change course. He said US planners mistakenly expected Iran to capitulate before any military action and are now attempting to use non‑military measures to compensate for strategic failures. He added Iran has demonstrated a new model of resistance.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy said it attacked three tankers using 'unauthorized' routes in the Strait of Hormuz and three vessels linked to the United States in other areas. The IRGC navy warned all vessels operating in the Persian Gulf or the Strait of Hormuz not to be "deceived" by US forces and to avoid any suspicious attempts to transit 'unauthorized' waterways, saying such ships would otherwise become targets.
