Japan's Nikkei 225 opened up 643.21 points, or 0.99%, at 65,664.15 on Monday, Sept. 7.

Ningbo Qiushui Semiconductor Technology Co. said it has started mass production of an 8-inch red Micro-LED chip using its in-house damage-free Micro-LED process, delivering a 640×480 red display in a 0.15 cubic-centimeter volume for near-eye applications such as AR glasses. The company said pixel yield is above 99.9999% and the chip meets automotive-grade temperature requirements. An 8-inch hybrid-bonding production line is planned to start in October with annual capacity targeted at the 10‑million‑chip level.

WTI crude opened 0.9% higher, trading at $90.20/bbl; Brent crude up 0.7% at $95.00/bbl.
