On Sept. 4, WTI (USO) nominal exposure was about 20.31 mln barrels, up 1.54 mln barrels on the day (second consecutive large increase). Brent (BNO) futures positions were about 6.69 mln barrels, down 0.09 mln barrels on the day.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said earlier it publicly released for the first time previously undisclosed surveillance footage and videos of operations against vessels it described as violating rules. The IRGC said its naval forces took decisive action and established effective control in the Strait of Hormuz, warned any suspicious activity would be targeted, and called the United States the region's biggest threat to security and maritime trade, saying U.S. claims of support and escorting are lies.
