China’s Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) has approved the first eight actively managed, open‑end thematic funds with a three‑month holding‑period mechanism, clearing the way for near‑term issuance. Managers include Huaxia, Huitianfu, E Fund, Southern Asset Management, Harvest, East Money, Fullgoal and CITIC JianTou. The products target high‑quality, innovative small‑and‑mid‑caps on the BSE. Compared with earlier two‑year periodic open thematic funds, these require only a three‑month minimum holding before investors can redeem, materially shortening investor lock‑up and increasing allocation flexibility. Industry participants say the funds expand public mutual fund access to the BSE, should prompt fund managers to boost BSE research and product allocation, and may introduce incremental and institutional medium‑to‑long‑term capital that supports market liquidity.

At the 23:00 close, China's main commodity futures were mostly higher. Asphalt, low-sulfur fuel oil (LU), methanol, LPG and fuel oil rose more than 2%; 20# rubber and palm oil gained nearly 2%. Soda ash fell over 2%; glass, caustic soda and ethylene glycol (EG) slipped more than 1%; PVC declined about 1%.
