Tasnim reported First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said the government will
gradually phase out subsidies on imported gasoline; only about 15% of gasoline
consumption is currently subject to the new pricing. The government has arranged
for public transport vehicles to access gasoline at appropriate prices and
approved a resolution prioritizing the retirement of aging vehicles and
replacement with dual‑fuel and electric vehicles.
