Axios reports Zelenskiy said a U.S. team is proposing temporary de‑escalation
measures before and during winter to restart wider peace talks. The delegation —
the U.S. Middle East special envoy and Jared Kushner — visited Kyiv after a
three‑hour meeting with Putin in Moscow, Zelenskiy said. Washington signalled
Russia may be willing to negotiate and floated measures covering energy and
power infrastructure, grain shipments and oil and gas exports. The U.S. team
will brief Trump and continue consultations with Ukraine and European partners.
Zelenskiy said he hopes to restart diplomacy in September–October and that a
U.S.‑Russia‑Ukraine trilateral meeting is possible but not yet decided.
