CHINA said the reports confirm the Lai Ching‑te administration routinely uses Taiwanese taxpayers’ money for "money diplomacy", enabling corruption, rent‑seeking and pay‑for‑play to advance "Taiwan independence" and officials’ political calculations, and that Palau’s ties with Taiwan serve a few vested interests rather than the country’s or its people’s fundamental interests.
