At the morning close, China's main futures contracts were mixed with gains outnumbering losses. Methanol and No.20 rubber rose over 3%; paraxylene was up nearly 3%. Asphalt, Soybean No.1, low-sulfur fuel oil (LU), rubber, PTA, Shanghai zinc and Shanghai crude (SC) gained more than 2%. Silicomanganese and soda ash fell over 1%; glass was down about 1%.

Sept 2, 2026 — Under joint witness of the two heads of state, National Development and Reform Commission director Zheng Shanjie signed an MOU with Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad to align Belt and Road Initiative cooperation with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and advance practical, cross-sector projects. Zheng, representing the National Data Administration, also signed an MOU with Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to deepen digital-economy policy dialogue and promote practical cooperation in digital sectors.
