Shanghai municipal government and China Telecom signed a 15th Five-Year
strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai on Sept. 8. The pact establishes
comprehensive strategic cooperation to leverage Shanghai’s technology ecosystem
and China Telecom’s role in national network building, tech deployment, digital
China initiatives and cyber information security. Under the agreement the
parties will co-develop a Smart Cloud Shanghai city informatization service
brand, build globally leading new-generation information infrastructure, promote
frontier technology deployment, and use digital technologies to drive modern
industrial system development and enhance intelligent governance in the
megacity.
