The IRGC said the strikes caused severe damage, framed them as retaliation for US attacks and harassment of Iranian tankers and vessels, and warned against miscalculation.

Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported Iran launched an attack on US Navy vessels on Monday; the US military has not publicly confirmed. Iran earlier this weekend fired ballistic missiles at a US aircraft carrier and a guided‑missile destroyer. US officials said the attack caused no damage and that repeated recent Iranian attempts to strike US naval assets have raised concern about possible use of more advanced weapons.
