Tech reporter Mark Gurman says Apple will unveil a new Apple Watch app called
Readiness at Wednesday’s product event. The app is a derivative of the existing
Vitals app, which aggregates average heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen,
wrist temperature and prior-night sleep duration. Readiness is likely to use
many of the same metrics to assess physical recovery and whether a user is ready
for activity. The launch appears aimed at competing more directly with
screenless health trackers such as Whoop and Oura.
