China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has solicited public
comment on draft guidance to promote prefabricated interior fit-outs, targeting
a significant rise in the share of projects using prefabricated fit-outs by 2030
and the establishment of comprehensive standards, technology, industry,
supervision and talent systems. The draft seeks stronger application in
government‑funded projects, backing full adoption for government‑invested
affordable rental housing, talent apartments and dormitories, and encourages use
in schools, hospitals, office buildings, hotels and eldercare facilities.
