EIA Short-Term Energy Outlook: the U.S. Energy Information Administration expects Middle East crude oil production to remain below pre-conflict averages through Q1 2027.

China's National Bureau of Statistics said on a MoM basis in August fresh vegetable prices rose 5.5% (widening 4.2 ppt from July) after hot, rainy weather and seasonal replanting; egg prices swung from -2.1% to +2.4% MoM as summer laying-hen downtime reduced supply; pork rose 1.3% MoM amid fewer hog slaughters. The three items together pushed CPI MoM up about 0.12 percentage point.

CENTCOM said claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that it struck two US destroyers operating in the Middle East are false; no US naval ships were attacked and all IRGC attack attempts failed. CENTCOM added that US forces destroyed 10 Iranian tankers over the past week, which it said were part of a multi-billion-dollar shadow network funding the IRGC and that Iran was unable to protect.
