At the 23:00 close, China's domestic futures main contracts were mixed. Styrene (EB) and benzene rose over 5%; fuel oil and propylene gained over 4%; ethylene glycol (EG) climbed over 3%; polypropylene (monthly average) and asphalt advanced near 3%. On the downside, coke fell more than 2%; coking coal dropped nearly 2%; glass, rapeseed oil and palm oil declined over 1%.

PBOC Deputy Governor Xuan Changneng attended the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) meeting of central bank governors in Basel on Sept. 6-7, 2026. Governors exchanged views on the global economic and financial outlook, central-bank responses to supply shocks, challenges from rapid AI-driven technological change and a volatile external environment for monetary policy, and on policy communication. During the meeting Xuan held bilateral talks with several governors to discuss issues of mutual concern.
