At its 2026 interim results briefing Juneyao Airlines said Q2 gross margins were negative, driven by an unexpected spike in jet-fuel prices. The company said China domestic average jet-fuel procurement prices have retreated from this year’s peak entering Q3, and with summer peak-season demand and year-on-year higher load factor it expects Q3 gross margins to improve substantially versus Q2.

European equities opened lower: Stoxx Europe 50 down 0.73%, Germany's DAX down 0.72% and the UK's FTSE 100 down 0.51%.
