CNN Arabic cited a source saying Saudi Arabia is preparing a retaliatory response after large-scale Houthi attacks on Saudi territory and has notified allies. The source said Saudi diplomats told US lawmakers in August that political communication with the Houthis has broken, the Houthis plan to escalate, and Riyadh sought Washington’s support. Saudi and CENTCOM have agreed on next steps and European partners have been informed; the form and scale of any response remain unclear. Riyadh is pressing other countries to join the effort, though some have feared such participation would be seen as joining a US–Iran conflict. The source said maritime coalition partnerships are being used both to deter incidents and to prepare for operations.
