Mehmet Oz, head of the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), said
the Trump administration is seeking additional voluntary drug-pricing agreements
with pharmaceutical companies. Officials have announced more than 20 such deals
so far, Oz said, and more are in the works. The agreements vary, but companies
typically agree to lower prices charged to public health programs and to launch
new drugs at prices comparable with other developed countries in exchange for
tariff relief.
