At the 2026 Inclusion·Bund conference main forum, Lu Chaoyang, executive dean of
the USTC Shanghai Research Institute, said quantum computing remains immature
and is not a universal accelerator. He said quantum speedups are likely limited
to a narrow class of problems with special mathematical structure; to date there
is no widely accepted evidence of practical quantum acceleration in finance, nor
any accepted quantum algorithm that speeds up contemporary large-model training.
