The Wall Street Journal reports NVIDIA (NVDA.O) CEO Jensen Huang told a Goldman Sachs conference he rejects claims that NVIDIA’s financing of data-center and AI infrastructure projects constitutes circular financing. Asked whether the investments were circular, Huang said, “I put in $1, it ends up $100. Is that circular?” He called the transactions a “very smart strategy” aimed at building distribution channels and driving market adoption of NVIDIA’s architecture, not simple recycling of funds.

Sept. 10 — Wind data: Wind Optical Fiber Index closed down 3.26% after reports that optical-fiber preform capacity is accelerating. Preforms, the main raw material for optical fiber and cable, have risen sharply YTD and recently, but industry sources say mid‑term prices are uncertain as new capacity scheduled to come online over the next two years will require market validation. FiberHome said it expects sustained data‑centre optical connectivity demand, is expanding high‑end capacity (multimode, specialty and hollow‑core fibers) and will use self‑funding to advance projects before proceeds from a planned directed share issuance are received.
