On Sept. 10 the Shanghai Stock Exchange said in a speech that as of end‑August domestic listed ETFs totaled 1,647 with AUM of 4.96 tln yuan. A further 270 ETFs launched year‑to‑date (+17% YoY). Jan–Aug cumulative ETF turnover reached nearly 82 tln yuan (+81% YoY), signalling improved liquidity and greater investor participation. The exchange said it will, in line with 15th Five‑Year Plan guidance to cultivate patient capital and attract long‑term funds, continue to broaden the ETF product set, refine ETF rules and market infrastructure, and optimise the ETF investment ecosystem.
