At midday close, China’s main futures were mixed. Shanghai silver futures slid
more than 5%; lithium carbonate fell nearly 5%; platinum dropped about 4%.
Synthetic rubber, coking coal, ethylene glycol (EG), Shanghai tin, palladium,
coke, red dates and Shanghai zinc each declined over 3%. On the upside, Shanghai
crude (SC) rose nearly 6%; fuel oil gained over 4%; low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) was
up about 4%; container-shipping Europe-route futures advanced more than 3%.
