Axios reports the United States is increasingly no longer the default choice for governments to buy weapons, for other countries to park funds, or as a destination for international students. The piece warns even modest shifts away from the US could erode Washington’s decades-long economic and geopolitical advantages.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea said on social media on the evening of Sept. 12 that Saudi warplanes carried out 129 airstrikes across Taiz, Marib, Hodeidah, al-Jawf, Saada, Amran and Hajjah provinces over the past 48 hours. He named F-15 and Typhoon fighters as the aircraft, saying they operated from Khamis Mushait and Taif military bases, and said the Houthis would "respond and punish" the strikes.
