On the 12th in an interview in India, Iranian President Pezeshkian said Iran and Saudi Arabia are "not at war." He said Iran has repeatedly urged all regional states to sit down to jointly build regional peace and security, and that there is no reason for conflict or war among countries in the region.

Iraq deputy prime minister and foreign minister Fuad Hussein held a phone call with Iran’s foreign minister on Sept. 12. They discussed Iraq’s recent temporary closure of several border crossings with Iran, the reasons and follow-up arrangements; exchanged views on the attack on Saudi Arabia and progress of related investigations; and reviewed a planned regional meeting in Oman — to include GCC members, Iraq and Iran — focused on Strait of Hormuz security. Iraq said it supports the meeting and will send a delegation. The ministers also exchanged views on Yemen and called for easing regional tensions through dialogue and negotiations.
