Abu Dhabi has suspended all trade, commercial and financial transactions with Tehran after detecting two ballistic missiles fired from Iran into UAE territory on Aug. 18-19. Experts and businesspeople in the UAE say decades-long economic links between Abu Dhabi’s financial centre and southern Iran are not easily broken and that a prolonged rupture could weigh on the Dubai economy.

Kobeissi reported U.S. household net worth rose $12.5 trillion in Q2 2026 to a record $185.7 trillion, the largest single-quarter increase on record. The net worth-to-GDP ratio jumped 20 percentage points to 571%, just shy of the 574% peak in Q3 2021. Kobeissi said asset holders have been the primary beneficiaries and warned those without assets risk being left behind.
