During a visit to Ireland on Sept. 13, President Trump reiterated he expects the Iran conflict to end immediately after the November US congressional midterm elections and said gasoline prices would then fall rapidly. He added Iran is "very eager to reach an agreement" and has been contacting the United States. Trump made similar remarks on Sept. 9.

On the 13th (local time), Israeli Defense Minister Katz said the IDF will continue to hold the Aritashir high ground in southern Lebanon to prevent Hezbollah or any other force from returning and re-establishing positions. Katz said the position is part of what Israel describes as its 'security zone' in southern Lebanon and that Israeli forces will not withdraw or redeploy until Hezbollah is disarmed across Lebanon. He warned anyone approaching the position would be eliminated.
