The New York Times, citing two people familiar with the matter, reported the Trump administration plans to end federal limits on greenhouse gas emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants. EPA administrator Lee Zeldin is expected to announce the rollback Monday at the G20 energy ministers' meeting in Houston. The administration is pursuing policies to ease fossil-fuel production and use, lower costs and promote fossil-fuel power to meet growing AI data-center electricity demand.

At the Hong Kong open, the Hang Seng fell 0.42% and the Hang Seng Tech slipped 0.69%. AI sector names led declines: MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) and Zhipu (02513.HK) dropped more than 5%; Alibaba (09988.HK) was down about 2%.
