MOFCOM and seven other ministries issued an Action Plan to Promote Smart Home
Consumption directing promotion of household service robots, health-monitoring
devices and intelligent care products tailored for the elderly. The plan
instructs firms to adopt age-friendly designs covering product dimensions, ease
of operation, dialect recognition and safety, and to expand supply of
age-adapted smart-home products and home-renovation services. It also calls for
establishing certification for silver-age/elder-friendly smart-home products.
