Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said on the morning of
the 14th that a passenger ferry capsized and remains overturned and afloat in
the Java Sea. As of dawn on the 14th the incident has left six dead and 129
still missing; the vessel was carrying 243 people when it capsized on the 13th
after reporting severe weather. Rescue operations have deployed multiple ships,
aircraft and helicopters, navy divers and special forces frogmen, and maritime
drones to search for the missing.
