Guangzhou municipal government issued a municipal Marine Economy 15th Five‑Year Plan targeting expansion of the marine electronic information sector. Policy measures prioritize subsea wireless communication terminals, underwater acoustic communication devices, marine observation sensors and detection radar; deep integration of satellite‑internet mega‑constellations with the marine industry, including R&D of marine‑environment‑adapted satellite internet terminals and chips and a satellite‑internet data service hub for marine applications; deployment of 5G+Beidou integrated navigation and unified air‑space‑ground‑sea networking; and development of marine AI foundation models and specialized models for detection, aquaculture and shipping to seed AI+marine application and a sensing‑data‑model‑service‑trade industry chain.

Saudi foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan said Gulf security depends on respect for sovereignty and that GCC member states will not tolerate attacks on their territory. He reiterated the need to preserve freedom of navigation and the safety of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and all sea lanes, warning any disruption would unsettle global markets, supply chains and economic growth.
