Guo Dayong was announced on Sep 14 as party secretary of the Shanghai Gold Exchange and has been nominated as its chairman. Guo formerly served as deputy party secretary, president and vice chairman of China UnionPay.

The People's Bank of China released August 2026 financial statistics on Sept 14. Its estimates show bond and equity financing accounted for 50.31% of the increase in social financing in the first eight months of 2026, surpassing loans and about 20 percentage points higher than five years ago. Corporate bonds' share of social financing growth rose to 11.67%, up roughly 5.8 percentage points year-on-year.
