ProRail, the Dutch government rail infrastructure agency, said multiple track
sections across the Netherlands show materials that appear to have been
deliberately placed; staff are removing the items. Since Tuesday morning
services in the country’s central and northern regions have been severely
disrupted; ProRail warned of delays and cancellations. Faults at multiple level
crossings may affect road traffic, and during these segment faults
signalling/computer systems can register a section as "occupied" even when no
train is present.
