China's national carbon market recorded cumulative trading of more than 900 million tonnes of carbon allowances as of end‑August, with turnover exceeding 60 bln yuan, the National Carbon Market Development Report 2026 said at the China Carbon Market Conference in Wuhan. The report said the market's establishment and expansion has played an important role in advancing China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.
