Chris Lane, OpenAI's head of global affairs, said Tuesday the company backs the measure, filed by Reps Jay Obernolte (R) and Lori Trahan (D), which seeks to establish a federal AI safety framework and would require top AI labs to admit independent verification organizations (IVOs) for onsite checks.
