By 23:00, China’s main futures contracts were mixed. Ethylene glycol (EG) led
gains, up over 4%. Bottle-grade PET chip, polyester staple fiber (short fiber)
and low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) rose more than 3%; paraxylene (PX) was up nearly
3%. Asphalt, methanol and styrene (listed as EB) climbed over 2%. On the
downside, PVC fell more than 2%; glass, coking coal, coke and cotton yarn
dropped over 1%; synthetic rubber and soda ash declined about 1%.
