Resource costs have reached historic highs as Q3 draws to a close: secondary DDR5 dies and embedded LP DRAM (LP4X/LP5X) have risen after roughly three months of continuous gains. Finished industry DDR5 DIMMs and LP4X/LP5X modules have been repriced upward in stages, but customer price tolerance is nearing its limit and demand is contracting, prompting some memory suppliers to slow procurement. Secondary dies used in industry DDR5 modules have climbed more than sixfold cumulatively since September last year, dipped briefly in late March, then stabilised and rebounded in early Q3 to new highs. Only a handful of overseas buyers are accepting the higher prices; 8GB and 16GB DDR5 modules saw small price increases this week. PC OEMs are increasingly evaluating downgrade options to curb costs, a shift that will make shipments harder and leave suppliers more cautious about stocking high‑cost resources — a low‑demand, low‑stock, low‑shipments pattern that could persist.
